Remember These Guys??

There are a lot of men and women who are a long way from home. Most of them would rather be back on American soil, but they are doing what they have been told to do in what they have been taught to believe is service to their country. At this point, an "and to the rest of the world" should be added. Whether you support the current administration's decisions or not, these people are caught in the middle. Let us remember to pray for them daily. Right or wrong, their lives are on the line every single day and they deserve the best we can give them.

I think a lot of people have forgotten. The fact that the names of those who give their lives is kept in secret doesn't allow for mourning or remembering either. I have a friend of mine over there who is 58 years old. I think he is with the national guard. The government was too afraid to say they needed a draft to recruit enough young people for the war so they sent our elders (this guy is a grandfather for pete's sake). We made the mistake of not separating our support for the troups with our distain for the government and its policies during Viet Nam. Hopefully that is a lesson we don't need to learn again. I have very little good to say about the current elected members of our government on either side of the aisle, but yes, God bless our men and women in uniform.

Ya know....
This really ticks me off.
National Guard is what???
"National" Guard. These people serve to protect and assist HERE...in our NATION.
The past administrations have cut our active military to a point that they can not engage in a long term 'action'.
As a fmr Marine, I have no problem with our country dealing with a dictator like sadam, but we should have ACTIVE forces in place to do so. If this means a draft, then so be it. Dont be sending our National Guard to act as a active military force.
