Be Careful

Oh, be careful little mind what you think.
Oh, be careful little mind what you think.
For the Father up above.
Is looking down in love.
So, be careful little mind what you think.

Oh, be careful little mouth what you speak.
Oh, be careful little mouth what you speak.
For the Father up above
Is looking down in love
So, be careful little mouth what you speak.

No wonder people today struggle with their faith and the desire to follow Christ. Too many men and women in leadership and mentoring positions really screw it up, ya know?

"Let them be before the LORD continually, That He may cut off their memory from the earth; Because he did not remember to show lovingkindness, But persecuted the afflicted and needy man, And the despondent in heart, to put them to death." (Ps 109:15-16 NASB)

And do not enter into judgment with Your servant, For in Your sight no man living is righteous. For the enemy has persecuted my soul; He has crushed my life to the ground; He has made me dwell in dark places, like those who have long been dead. Therefore my spirit is overwhelmed within me; My heart is appalled within me. (Ps 143:2-4 NASB)

Sure, I realize people need to be strong and rise above false accusations, rumors, judgment, and the like. However, no one is a pillar of strength 24/7. God created us to need each other. The problem is too many times the people we look up to are the ones who cut our feet right out from under us and stab our hearts & spirits with unkind words and/or false thoughts. I am so thankful for God's Word which keeps the truth before us and gives us reminders:

The sum of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous ordinances is everlasting. Princes persecute me without cause, But my heart stands in awe of Your words. I rejoice at Your word, As one who finds great spoil. (Ps119 NASB)
Many times they have persecuted me from my youth up, Let Israel now say, Many times they have persecuted me from my youth up; Yet they have not prevailed against me. (Ps 129:1-2 NASB)

You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. (Mt 5:43-44 NASB)

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. (Ro 12:14 NASB)

The truth my little sunflower is this: you are blessed by God because you are saved by His grace, call on His name, and trust in His mercy. Keep your eyes and ears from those who knowingly or unknowingly drag you down and make you think less of yourself than you should. You are a daughter of the Creator of the universe. You are the little sister of the King of kings. Let those who would drag you down wallow in their own self-righteousness, evil-speaking, and pride. Pray for them that one day they will learn. Pray that they will not have to be put through what you have been subjected to in order to realize the truth - the weight of their words and actions - because in all honesty we do not want our brothers and sisters to suffer as we have been made to suffer. We love them too much for that. It is our love for them that makes these accusations hurt us so much. But His love covers a multitude of sin and conquers all. You cannot trust people, sunflower. You can trust Him. You are blessed and highly favored!

"We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body." (2Cor 4:9 NASB)

"No shuffling or stumbling around for this one,
But a sterling and solid and lasting reputation.
Unfazed by rumor and gossip,
Heart ready, trusting in GOD,
Spirit firm, unperturbed,
Ever blessed, relaxed among enemies."
(Ps 112:6-8 The Message)

Wise words for all to follow.
And remember...
Sticks and stones may break my bones.
But nuclear warheads will vaporise them ?
Wait...thats not right...
Oh, well, Youget the idea
